Perrine/Palmetto Bay Community Health Expo

On Sunday, August 5, the Perrine Seventh-day Adventist Church in Palmetto Bay will be hosting its Community Health Expo, a parade of health services that will be offered free of cost with the objective of educating the community on the importance of good health practices and maintenance. The Expo will be at 9850 East Datura St., Palmetto Bay, FL 33157, and will run from 11 am to 4 pm.

The services will include 

  • Physical exams 
  • Vision and dental exams 
  • Mental health counseling
  • Medication consultation 
  • Total cholesterol/glucose screening 
  • Body composition/BMI screening 
  • Hypertension screening 
  • Podiatry 
  • Blood bank 
  • Children’s health screening 
  • Chiropractic  and Massage therapy 
  • Facials 
  • CPR training classes

There will be gifts and limited free school supplies for early attendees, as well as entertainment for the kids, including face painting and a bounce house. Food will be available for a small donation.

The church will be joined in this project by the Homestead Hospital, Barry University and CHI, with Miami-Dade commissioner Daniella Levine Cava in attendance from 1 to 2 pm. The Expo is completely open to the public.
