8 oz brown sugar 2 oz water 8 oz toasted sesame seeds...

Belizean Wangla SweetMETHOD:

  1. Put sugar and water in a saucepan and cook until sugar caramelizes, turning a deep mahogany brown in color.
  2. In a separate pan, lightly toast the sesame seeds to bring out their natural oils, releasing a nutty aroma.
  3. Add the toasted sesame seeds to the caramelized sugar and pour onto a sheet tray or baking dish lined with parchment paper.
  4. Let cool for 15 minutes and cut into desired shapes.
