MIAMI — While studying the critically endangered slender-snouted crocodile, researchers made a startling discovery — what they thought was one species is actually two. The discovery raises concerns about whether current conservation practices are enough to protect them.

MIAMI – In September of 2017, Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico, leaving loss, pain and destruction in its wake. It also led to the collapse of Puerto Rico’s health care system.

MIAMI –  A bloom of a harmful algal species that causes a different red tide than what is currently affecting Florida’s east and west coasts has been found in the Florida Keys, according to FIU researcher Tom Frankovich.

BROWARD COUNTY, FL: The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) has confirmed the presence of red tide in the coastal waters of Broward County at undetectable to low concentrations at 9 sampling locations.  The results indicated the following:
