This Valentine’s Day, show your love not with the color red, but with the color of green.  The Miami-Dade Cooperative Extension Division is hosting a workshop that teaches you how to love your landscape by helping it recover from cold damage brought on by recent dips in temperature and keep it green year-round.  The event will be held Saturday, February 13 atPinecrest Gardens, 11000 Red Road (S.W. 57th Ave.), from 9 a.m. to noon.
Workshop presenters will explain how much water you should be using on your lawn during the winter, what plants you should prune and what plants are spectacular winter bloomers.
The Miami-Dade County Environmentally, Endangered, Lands (EEL) Program would like to invite you to its first Volunteer Workday of the year, which will take place at the County Line Scrub EEL Preserve, located at NE 215 Street and NE 4 Avenue, on Saturday, January 23. The event is scheduled from 9 am till noon.

Every year, the Environmentally Endangered Lands (EEL) Program sponsors a series of environmentally workdays designed to help raise our community’s awareness about local native habitats. The goal of the EEL Workdays is to educate our community about ecosystems that once covered all of Miami-Dade County but now remain only in undeveloped and protected areas.
