Unlike his opponents in this race, Hepburn advocacy and calls for Gun Control and Gun Rights Reform – did not recently start after the tragic incident occurred at Parkland. Unfortunately, Hepburn witnessed his first act of gun violence when he was just in the sixth grade and a couple years later, just a month after he turned 18 years old. He was forced to stare down the barrel of a gun which could have taken his life – if the person pulled the trigger.
Implementing life-saving gun control and gun rights reform in America has been a top priority years before our campaign knocked on that first door more than a year ago on Martin Luther King Day. Hepburn has one of the strongest stances on gun control reform in America. He's fighting for a Ban on All Assault Weapons; Federal mandate to end all imports and exports of any new firearms; Increasing Taxes on all Ammunition by 10,000 Percent (Senator Moynihan Concept); Extreme Risk Protection Order Laws; Mandating all Lost or Stolen Firearms be Reported; Banning all Politicians from receiving contributions from Gun Manufacturers, Corporations, and Lobbyist tied to these industries who make or sell firearms, etc.
“Simply put – America has too many guns and it's time for us to recognize this phenomenon for what it really is... This is not an issue of law and criminal justice, we are facing a Public Health Epidemic. We must focus on saving lives by ending gun violence in our nation” said Hepburn.
