Dear Friends of District 8, As our country and community continue to mount a response to the threat of COVID-19 (coronavirus), I wanted to share a quick update on how Team 8 is responding.
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Representative Debbie Mucarsel-Powell (FL-26) announced policy changes to her congressional offices in order to mitigate the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), protect team members, and continue to serve the people of Florida’s 26th district. Starting today, Mucarsel-Powell’s team will be working remotely during normal business hours. Constituent service representatives will continue to help residents with existing and new casework issues involving the federal government – including navigating recent travel restrictions announced by President Trump. Mucarsel-Powell will still accept small meetings by appointment only in line with current public health guidelines.

NEW YORK— Today, The Collective is proud to announce that Mike Bloomberg has donated two million dollars to help fund the organization’s 501c4 arm Collective Future and their new voter registration initiative targeted towards Black voters in eight crucial states across the country. Collective Future will work to register 500,000 African Americans to vote through engagement with key faith-based, education, youth, and civic partners across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas and Wisconsin in an effort to maximize Black voter turnout across the South and Midwest.
