On October 6, 2018, the Calabar Old Boys' Association (COBA) held its Annual Reunion Dinner at the Mona Visitors Lodge & Conference Centre and the turnout of old boys, families, friends and well wishers was delightful. 

NY: Do you remember the iconic Clancy Eccles produced political song 'My Leader Born Yah’ (The Message)' that was recorded in the 1970's by singer Neville 'Struggle' Martin? The song was for then PNP party leader, Michael Manley against former JLP leader Edward Seaga who reportedly is not of Jamaican ancestry. The hit song was used on the campaign trail, highlighting signature PNP's achievements including the literacy program (JAMAL); the rural development programme Land Lease, which provided small farmers with land and supplies; free education; equal pay for women and the Status of Children Act, which recognizes children born out of wedlock.

Kingston, Jamaica: Jamaican fans of veteran Jamaican American entertainer Harry Belafonte, 91, who were looking forward to see him receive the Jamaican honor of the Order of Merit (OM), were disappointed by his absence at the award ceremony at Kings House, the Governor General’s residence, on Monday, National Heroes Day in Jamaica.

A Prayer Answered

On the day of September 15, 2018, a prayer was answered and a dream came true for Brontz Alexis. That day he was working the valet at the Coral Springs Marriott Hotel for The International Italian Festival.
