Baptist Health International Presents Latest Medical Advancements


download3Team of Miami-based Physicians Hosts Unprecedented Event for Medical Community in Nassau. Baptist Health International, a division of Baptist Health South Florida, hosted a multi-specialty symposium at Atlantis in Paradise Island, presenting the latest medical advancements and new technology in a variety of fields.

Approximately 150 doctors from The Bahamas, along with representatives from the Ministry of Health, attended the event to learn about breakthroughs from Baptist Health South Florida physicians in town for this first-time event.

As one of the largest international hospital-based programs in the United States, we take pride in sharing our experience with our international community, particularly with our Caribbean neighbors, said Director of Symposium Mario A. M'ndez, M.D., corporate vice president and chief medical officer for Baptist Health International.

Baptist Health South Florida physicians presented throughout the day regarding various areas of excellence and advancements, especially in the field of robotics, with lectures that included Revolutionizing the Experience of Surgery “Robotics in Gynecological Oncology, Latest Clinical Updates in the Treatment of Cardiovascular Disease and Robotics in Urology: State of the Art and the Future.

Specialties discussed throughout the symposium included Interventional Cardiology, Neurological Surgery, Gynecological Oncology, Urology, Interventional Neuroradiology, Endovascular Neurosurgery, Pulmonology and Emergency Services.
