CHI Dental Teams Give Kids a Smile for Free

Community Health of South Florida Inc (CHI) is hosting Give Kids A Smile Day at seven of its health centers. On Friday February 1, 2019 CHI will provide free cleanings, oral screenings, fluoride varnish and sealants for children ages three to sixteen.

More than half of CHI patients are uninsured.  The non-profit has been a champion for making sure that everyone has access to high quality healthcare regardless of income or insurance status.

“We are very pleased to partner with the American Dental Association in this important endeavor,” said Dr. Sheri Watson-Hamilton DMD, Director of Dental Services at CHI. “Oral health is a key part of raising a healthy child. A kid with a cavity can’t function or learn in school and the ripple effect can be very detrimental.”

CHI will be offering kids these free services at the following locations:

Doris Ison Health Center 10300 SW 216 St. Miami FL 33190

West Perrine Health Center 18255 Homestead Ave. Perrine FL 33157

For more than 45 years, CHI has been providing medical care to the insured and uninsured. Many of those patients would otherwise go without doctor’s visits, medication and life-saving treatments. A significant percentage of CHI patients do not have the resources to pay for medical care. CHI is a neighborhood resource that gives and goes beyond the call of duty. Its comprehensive medical services offer a wide array of care under one roof: family medicine, pediatrics, OB/GYN, vision, radiology, pharmacy, dental, behavioral health, urgent care and much more.
