184-Room New Build Hotel to Feature Rooms for Longer Stays and Wellness Center.
MIAMI, FL â€“ On December 13th, Hilton and Baptist Health South Florida broke ground on Hilton Miami/Dadeland, a full service, 184-room hotel, on the Baptist Hospital campus. Scheduled to open in late 2018, the hotel will feature 150 guest rooms, 34 rooms tailored to guests staying for longer periods, the largest meeting space in the area, a wellness center, farm-to-table restaurant and more.

Dec. 21, 2016: One Caribbean company is seriously focused on promoting medicinal marijuana and is making sure doctors on the island its located are also certified to recommend the herb to patients. The Academic Sciences of Puerto Rico (ASPR), in collaboration with Cannabis Doctors is conducting a medical marijuana certification program for doctors, according to Caribbean Business.com. The program offers eight credits of continuous education to obtain the Health Department (HD) license and recommend medicinal cannabis to nearly 200,000 patients authorized for those treatments in Puerto Rico.
The Black River Hospital in St. Elizabeth is now qualified to become a â€˜baby-friendlyâ€™ hospital following infrastructural and equipment support from Sagicor Jamaica, which Health Minister, Dr. Christopher Tufton says underscores the significance of corporate citizenship. As one of three beneficiaries of the 2016 Sagicor Sigma Run, the hospital received on Thursday, December 15, a refurbished Paediatric Lounge and furniture to facilitate the privacy and comfort of mothers while they breastfeed, an arterial blood gas analyzer to test or measure the oxygen and carbondioxide levels in babies and children and signage for the hospital. The other beneficiaries are the Jamaica Cancer Society and kids with cancer across the island.
