This route runs on designated express lanes on I-75 and the State Road 826 from a new Park & Ride facility located at I-75 and Miami Gardens Drive (near Florida’s Turnpike) to the Palmetto Metrorail station. The route operates during weekdays, with buses running every 15 minutes during peak service hours. A one-way trip on the N.W. Miami-Dade Express route is $2.25.
“The start of this route is yet another important step in implementing the SMART Plan. It will provide a much-needed transit option for our residents in the northern end of the County, as well as for our neighbors in Broward who wish to travel to downtown Miami, the airport and even further south,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez.
“We are grateful to our transportation partners, the Florida Department of Transportation, for the construction of this new Park & Ride facility from where we will be operating our first BERT route,” said Alice N. Bravo, P.E., DTPW Director. “It is with the support of our transportation partners and stakeholders that we’ll successfully develop all the SMART Plan corridors.”
Staff will be on site at the newly opened Park & Ride facility every weekday during the morning service hours through Dec. 6, 2019, giving away EASY Cards loaded with a 1-Day Pass (while supplies last) and signing up passengers for the Emergency Ride Home program. The first tap of the 1-Day pass must be on board a Route 175 bus that departs from the Park & Ride facility.
The introduction of Route 175 is part of bus service adjustments made in November 2019.
