Celebrate Earth Day at the 35th Anniversary of Baynanza Biscayne Bay Cleanup Day on April 22

MIAMI (April 12, 2017) — Residents are invited to be part of the largest shoreline cleanup in South Florida, the Baynanza Biscayne Bay Cleanup Day on Earth Day, Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 9 a.m. to noon. This year marks Baynanza’s 35th year, and will bring together the community to help restore and clean Biscayne Bay’s shoreline at more than 20 locations. Volunteers at all the sites will receive a free commemorative T-shirt, and community service hours are available to all students that participate.

There will also be entertainment, music, food and engaging environmental activities for the volunteers to enjoy at this year’s main cleanup site, Matheson Hammock Park, 9610 Old Cutler Road, Coral Gables, Florida. The Miami-Dade County Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources, Division of Environmental Resources Management, organizes this event with support from sponsors and other County agencies every year in April.
