MIAMI - Enrollment is now open for the African Heritage Cultural Arts Center’s (AHCAC) Summer Arts Conservatory for youth ages 5 – 16, offered from June 11 through August 17, 2018. The program includes music, dance, drama, and visual arts classes taught by professional instructors within a creative and secure environment Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Early drop off begins at 7:30 a.m. with last pickup at 6:00 p.m.). The AHCAC is located at 6161 NW 22nd Avenue, in the heart of Liberty City, at the intersection of Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Moonlight Way.
Nearly a dozen individuals will be recognized at the 2018 Caribbean American Heritage Awards this month in South Florida.
A call to artists is currently available for the Deering Estate Artist-in-Residence (AIR) Program for visual, literary, performing, and cross-disciplinary artist. Artists are invited to apply before the August 1, 2018, 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time deadline. The application is for Studio Residencies and Non-Studio Project Residencies at the Deering Estate that begin as early as October 1, 2018.
