*Event Changes.* Due to impending severe weather expected for Thursday and Friday, the Miami Broward Carnival One Host Committee (MBOCHC) has made some scheduling changes to this year’s events to ensure that public safety is our number one priority. Our "Food Truck Invasion" event (previously scheduled at 12 PM, Friday, October 7, 2016) at Central Broward Regional Park has been cancelled.

Debates will be hosted by CBS Miami, Univision 23 and the Black Owned Media Alliance/WMBM.  (MIAMI, September 28, 2016) – Today, Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez accepted three mayoral debate invitations. The first one will be on Sunday, October 9th on CBS 4's "Facing South Florida" with Jim DeFede. The second one will air on Sunday, October 16th on "Al Punto Florida" with Ambrosio Hernandez on Univision 23, and the third one will be on Thursday, October 20th on WMBM hosted by the Black Owned Media Alliance.
Pursuant to Resolution R-16-0446, adopted on September 22, 2016, a special meeting of the Miami City Commission will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2016, at 9:00 a.m., at Miami City Hall located at 3500 Pan American Drive, Miami, Florida. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the City Attorney. No business shall be conducted or a vote taken at a special City Commission meeting on business other than the subject for which the special meeting is called.
Miami-Dade County is sending a $13,696.06 check to the OneOrlando fund, which benefits the victims and family members of the Pulse Nightclub shooting in Orlando. Miami-Dade County employees contributed their unused annual and holiday leave time to the fund after Commissioner Levine Cava sponsored a resolution<http://www.miamidade.gov/govaction/matter.asp?matter=161476&file=true&yearFolder=Y2016> authorizing the donations from employees in June.
