All ages are invited to participate in The Big Read's community-wide reading project.  BROWARD COUNTY, FL - The Florida Center for the Book at Broward County Library invites readers of all ages to participate in 2017's Big Read project. The Big Read, a community-wide reading project, is exploring of The Namesake by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Jhumpa Lahiri, with a full calendar of events including book and film discussions, lectures, writing and visual arts workshops, Indian cultural programs and other fun, family-friendly programs.

BROWARD COUNTY, FL - An international delegation of officials from the Colombian National Disaster Management Agency visited the Broward Emergency Operations Center (EOC) on Tuesday, December 6. The officials were invited under the auspices of the U.S. Agency of International Development and the Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance. The Federal Office is charged by the President with directing and coordinating international U.S. government disaster assistance. The delegation visit was facilitated by Florida International University's Disaster Resilience and Climate in the Americas Program.
