Who: Jeff Faulkner, Roy Foster, Jed Weaver, Hall of Fame offensive tackle ANTHONY MUÑOZ and youth from the Miami community.

What: The Miami Dolphins, in conjunction with the NFL, have partnered with Hall of Fame offensive tackle Anthony Muñoz and the Muñoz Agency to host an NFL PLAY 60 Character Camp locally.

The Consulate General of Jamaica and the Jamaican Diaspora Florida/Southern USA will the mark the Caribbean nation’s 51st anniversary of Independence with two programs next month.

At 8 p.m. Aug. 3, a Jamaica Independence Grand Gala and 2013 Honors ceremony, under the theme “United…The Journey Continues”, will be held at the Signature Grand hotel, 6900 W. State Rd. 84, Davie, Florida.

On AUGUST 1ST and 2nd, the Greater Caribbean American Cultural Coalition, under the auspices of Florida State Representative Hazelle Rogers and the Caribbean Consular Corps will host educational and commemorative events of Caribbean enslavement, resistance and emancipation.

Professional clothing drive helps to support at-risk youth and young adults.

The Greater Miami Service Corps (GMSC) is partnering with Men’s Wearhouse for the sixth annual National Suit Drive, the nation’s largest collection of gently used business attire for men. Together, they are encouraging residents to donate their gently used business attire to help give a fresh start to disadvantaged youth and young adults.
Along with more than 150 other nonprofit organizations across the country, GMSC and National Suit Drive will distribute the items collected at the local Men’s Wearhouse locations to program participant’s, veteran’s and community residents in need.  Items being collected include men’s and women’s suits, shirts, jackets, ties, belts, and shoes. Residents may donate their gently used items now through July 31 at any local Men’s Wearhouse location. Donations are tax deductible.
