State-of-the-art technology will enhance "real-time" passenger information
On January 28, the Broward County Commission voted to move forward with implementation of a Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Automatic Vehicle Locator (AVL) system for Broward County Transit (BCT).
The new CAD/AVL system will allow operations dispatchers to better manage fixed-route and community buses and the planned â€œWAVEâ€ modern streetcar system. It will also provide â€real-timeâ€ bus arrival and departure information through passenger advisory signs, websites, text messaging and mobile phone applications.
Public invited to how-to workshops on health care basics and enrollment
Need information on your health care insurance options for 2014? Broward County Libraries will host a series of free Affordable Care Act workshops, presented by the League of Women Voters of Broward County and AARP.
The workshops will run from February 17 to March 5 at Broward County Library locations throughout the county. Each includes a PowerPoint presentation, informational hand-outs and a Q&A session. All workshops are free and open to the public.
