Bicycle Presentation to take place during Miami-Dade Parks’ University of Miami BikeSafe® Program at Continental Park, Thursday, July 11, 1:30 p.m.

The Tax lawyers of Marini and Associates, P.A. pledged three new children’s bicycles to the Parks Foundation of Miami-Dade’s Neill L. Miller Fund to teach bicycle safety to children at Miami-Dade Parks’ summer camps. 

The bicycles will be presented by Ronald Marini, president of Marini & Associates, P.A. to Dick Anderson, president of the Parks Foundation of Miami-Dade and Renae Nottage, superintendent for recreation for Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department, on Thursday, July 11, at 1:30 p.m. at Continental Park, 10000 SW 82 Avenue, in Miami, during the camp’s UM BikeSafe® Program.

Miramar Vice Mayor Alexandra P. Davis and Consolidated Credit Solutions will host a Home Preservation event on Saturday, July 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sunset Lakes Community Center located at 2801 S.W. 186th Avenue.

According to Vice Mayor Davis, “Even though the economy is slowly picking up, there are many that are on the cusp of foreclosure.  This event will help many to avoid the pitfalls of foreclosure.  Homeownership is the backbone of any community and we must do everything we can to preserve it.” At this event, HUD certified counselors can advise you on your mortgage, discuss various funding options and you can also speak with lenders and servicers on site as well.

Miami-Dade County will host a Disparity Study update meeting in District 2 on Friday, July 12, 2013, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the NFL YET Center at 7090 NW 22nd Ave.

The purpose of the meeting is to inform local businesses about the status of the County’s Disparity Study, which will determine if minority and women-owned business enterprises have had equal access to the County’s contracting opportunities. All local firms are invited and lunch will be served.

Small Business Development (SBD), under the Business Affairs Division of the Miami-Dade County Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources (RER), will host a forum on Preparing your Business for a Disaster on  Wednesday, July 10, 2013, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., at the Stephen P. Clark Center, located at 111 NW 1st Street, 19th Floor Main conference room, in Miami.

Participants will receive key tools and information to help them prepare for a disaster. They will be provided resources to assist businesses before and after any disaster.
