As a prelude to Miami-Dade Public Library System’s “International Art of Storytelling Family Festival Day”, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. April 27 at the Main Library, the Library System will present “Tales Under the Stars” at 7 p.m. April 9 at the Key Biscayne Branch Library, 299 Crandon Blvd.

African American storyteller Donna Kokumo Buie, also known as Mama Koku, will headline the evening.

Utility Bill Help

Beginning April 1, low-income individuals living in Miami-Dade County can receive assistance with their utility costs through the Community Action and Human Services Department Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).

LIHEAP applications are available at Community Service Centers, Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Applications and a listing of Community Service Centers are available online at http://www.miamidade.gov/socialservices/housing-assistance-energy.asp.

Multicultural Day

The City of Miramar in South Florida is sponsoring the second annual South Florida Multicultural Games featuring Jamaica’s University of Technology at 3 p.m. April 29 at the Ansin Sports Complex, 10801 Miramar Blvd.

The games will offer a track and field meet that features athletes from the Caribbean.
