“iRead, iThink, iWrite” is the collaborative effort of sixteen very diverse Miami Norland Senior High School 9th grade students who were a part of the 2015-16 freshman class. The students, who enrolled in the elective class of Freshman Experience, were assigned to read the acclaimed published work “We Beat the Street” - the true stories of physicians George W. Jenkins, Rameck Hunt and Sampson Davis. Their stories were was so impactful that the students decided to write about their own life experiences relating to hope, love, violence and change. The book is filled with their vivid perceptions of the kaleidoscope they live in and their unbridled emotions about what they can do to make a difference, with the hope of evoking change.
