One of Jamaica’s most exciting golf tournaments, the 15th Annual Caribbean Golf Association Classic will be held in Montego Bay from May 12-16, 2010.

The annual event is played on three of Jamaica’s top golf courses, Cinnamon Hill Golf Course at Rose Hall Resort and Spa - A Hilton resort, White Witch Golf Course at the Ritz-Carlton Rose Hall Golf and Spa Resort, and the Half Moon Golf Course at the Half Moon Resort. These fabulous golf courses are all within five minutes of each other and just 15 minutes away from Sangster International Airport. Highlights of the tournament include: three days of golf; opening ceremonies with cocktails and buffet dinner; a theme party; and a closing awards banquet. The deadline to enter into the tournament is April 15, 2010.

Strikers Sign Defender Nickardo Blake

The Fort Lauderdale Strikers have announced the signing of UConn defender Nickardo Blake. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. “Nickardo is a versatile guy who can play right back or center back,” said Head Coach Daryl Shore. ”He had a great career at the University of Connecticut, and he’s a player that’s done well for us in preseason.”

Toronto FC selected Blake, 22, as the 14th pick of the 2012 MLS Supplemental Draft. After he was not offered a contract by Toronto, Blake was invited to join the Fort Lauderdale Strikers on trial. “We felt like he would add much needed depth to our roster,” added Shore. “We’re excited to have him join our team and push to get him into the starting lineup.”

Midfielder Mark Anderson signs his first professional contract with Fort Lauderdale

The Fort Lauderdale Strikers have signed midfielder and Barry University alum Mark Anderson for the 2012 season. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. “Mark had a great career locally at Barry University and he’s done well at our trials,” said Strikers head coach Daryl Shore. “We feel that he’ll be an exciting addition to our team.”

Anderson, 23, was named 2011 Daktronics DII National Soccer Player of the Year and 2011 Capital One Academic All-America of the Year for DII men's soccer. Anderson’s contract with the Fort Lauderdale Strikers is his first as a professional for the native of Durham, England.
