Kingston, Jamaica: The top ten performers of the 2018 Jamaica Festival Song Competition will hit the road running come Friday, June 1, a date which marks the beginning of a month-long, cross-island display of their performance skills – the 2018 Festival Song Road Show. Organised by the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) an agency of the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, the road tour will see the performers, which include a mass choir, try to out-shine and out-sing each other at six stops in six parishes across the island throughout the month of June.
Kingston, Jamaica: Sunday, May 27 will see the 24 finalists of 2018 Jamaica Children’s Gospel Song Competition compete at the National Finals at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre, 36 Hope Road, Kingston 10. The competition, organized by the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC), an Agency of the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport will see the most soulful junior soloists, ensembles and choirs from across the island compete for a chance to take home cash prizes and trophies in addition to the competition’s prestigious titles. Beginning at 6:30 p.m. the National Finals, which is a part of the JCDC 55th Anniversary Celebrations, will also feature Marsha Jarrett, 2016 Jamaica Gospel Song winner as the guest performer.
