The Jamaica Gospel Song Competition, will kick off its 30th anniversary year with regional auditions, starting on Tuesday, January 24. Organized by the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC), an agency of the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, this competition has been challenging writers and vocalists to become the best new gospel artist/writer of the year by expressing themselves through an original song for the past 30 years.

For Carnival 2017 Soca artiste Keston â€˜Dâ€™ Chancellorâ€™ Harris will be encouraging the masses to channel their inner wajank with his latest Jâ€™ouvert-centric release. â€˜Wajankâ€™ was written by Dâ€™ Chancellor and produced by 'Scrappy Da Rydhim God'.

Syndikyt of Barbados has been in existence for more than 20 years. Like long running bands, it has changed members over the years, but the current group has been together for five years. Band members include Maurice Lovence on bass guitar, Ian Belgrave on keyboards, vocalists Kathy-Ann Charles and Troy Harper, and leader Jerry Garvey on drums. Garvey and Lovence are founding members.
