NEW YORK (March 16, 2012) - The explosive dance group, Vissi Dance Theater, returns to the Jamaica Performing Arts Center (JPAC) in southeast Queens tomorrow evening Saturday, March 17.

Under the direction of experienced Jamaican dancer and choreographer, Courtney Ffrench, the multicultural group, dazzles to Jamaican ska, Afro-beat and hip hop among other rhythms.

At a jazz soiree at Crescendo’s Jazz and Blues Lounge in Miami, lovers of the saxophone, piano and drums, pledged financial support for medical treatment needed by the legendary jazz musician.

“Anyone in the jazz arena knows and respects Melton Mustafa,” said Miami-Dade Commissioner Barbara Jordan, who, along with Alonzo and Tracy mourning, was a part of the host committee. “He has given so much to the music industry and has devoted much of his time to educate young people about jazz.”

altJamaican dancehall entertainer Adidja Palmer, better known as Vybz Kartel, was remanded to prison after he appeared in court on the charge related to the murder of a business man. he will return to court on Dec. 21 when the prosecution is expected to furnish all relevant documents to his defense lawyers. Kartel, 35 has been accused of conspiring with other men to murder businessman and promoter Barrington Burton. "The allegation is that on Monday, July 11, 2011, Palme, along with the other men, conspired to kill Barrington Burton, a 27-year-old businessman/promoter of a Gregory Park address in St. Catherine. Burton was murdered while he was standing with his friends along Walkers avenue in Gregory Park", the police noted in a statement. The dancehall entertainer is also facing charges of conspiracy to murder and illegal possession of a firearm.
