Dr. Moreland’s firm, yet versatile leadership philosophy is exceptionally useful at the helm as we work together to emerge as the first-choice Catholic University of the South. I want to thank our Search Committee and the STU community for their conscientious participation in this process where Dr. Moreland became the consensus choice for this crucial role to our academic future,” he continued.
A champion for both classroom and online learning, Dr. Moreland’s prior roles have included academic dean, director of institutional assessment and planning, and faculty member. He has been instrumental in building programs and innovative processes to grow research for faculty and students alike.
“As STU’s provost, my priorities will include effectively leveraging technology for teaching and learning, while also fostering research opportunities for faculty and students,” he said. “With support from President Armstrong and his esteemed STU leadership team, I’m looking forward to hitting the ground running in my new position and strengthening opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students alike. I am eager to partner with colleagues across campus and I am optimistic in our ability to bolster academic excellence and spearhead enrollment growth within the next year,” he said.
