The largest class of lawyers to graduate from Florida International University will receive their diplomas on Friday. Among them will be a man who had to be pushed to go to college -- not by his parents, but by his son.

Miami Dade College’s (MDC) renowned Art Gallery System and Amnesty International will host an interfaith forum with members of the Hindu, Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist and Christian community to discuss the history of torture from a moralistic and political standpoint. The forum takes place Friday, May 28, at 7 p.m. at MDC’s Freedom Tower.

After celebrating 131 years since the University’s founding in Live Oak, Florida in 1879, the Trustees remain focused on hiring the right person to lead the University in educational advancement, fundraising initiatives, and fiscal responsibility.
