Caribbean nationals to receive awards at June 10 gala

Several Caribbean nationals will be honored for distinguished service during a gala affair this month in South Florida.

Mahfood Pierre smlThe “Caribbean American Heritage Awards”, staged annually to celebrate Caribbean American Heritage Month, will be staged June 10 at Doubletree by Hilton-Sunrise, Sawgrass.

The honorees include: Robin G. Mahfood, president and chief executive officer, Food For The Poor; Florida State Senator Daphne Campbell; Miramar City Commissioner Yvette Colbourne; Eveline Pierre, founder of the Haitian Heritage Museum in Florida; Albert Williams, professor at Nova Southeastern University; Beverly McLarty, team manager, Vitas Healthcare; Reverend Dr. Diane Moore-Eubanks, chancellor, Global Oved Dei Sem. and University; and Teodoro Miguel Florival-Victor, owner of Career Mentors of Youth and BSN.
