ImageEmployees of the Miami-Dade Community Action Agency (CAA) along with the CAA Board mobilized their own response to the events in Haiti, by starting a donation drive. As part of that effort, the staff was able to send cases of water, medical supplies, alcohol wipes, and other items to aid the people of Haiti in their recovery.
ImageBy being counted in the 2010 Census you are standing up for what your community's needs are. That's why census takers are so important. A census taker is a person from your community who is hired by the Census Bureau to make sure that your neighborhood gets represented as accurately as possible. The census taker's primary responsibility is to collect census information from residences that have not sent back their 2010 Census form.

ImageOn Thursday, February 18th, Commissioner presented a resolution designating February 24th as "International Day of the Cuban Exile." Commissioner Sosa also honored the memory of fellow Cubans and Brothers to the Rescue pilots, Armando Alejandre Jr., Mario de la Peña, Carlos Costa and Pablo Morales who were assassinated by the Castro regime. Members of Cuban exile groups joined the Commissioner in her presentation; amongst those who attended the presentation were Ambassador Armando Valladares, Emilio Izquierdo of UMPA and Georgina Chirino of the Federation of Electrical Plants.
