Jamaica Diaspora Education Task Force Summit

Minister of Education, Senator Ruel Reid (second left) accepting the keys to Broward County by County Commissioner Dale Holness (third left) at the Third (3rd) Biennial Advancement Education Summit recently held at the Miramar City Hall.  The three-day Summit was hosted by the Jamaica Diaspora Education Task Force and attracted a large turnout of attendees from education related institutions both in Jamaica and here in the USA, as well as alumni associations and other charity groups here in the Diaspora.

IMG 20180324 132801The agenda created forums for discussion groups on plans and initiatives to continue the growth of the relationship between Jamaica and its Diaspora, simultaneously maintaining and strengthening the local and regional activities that are already functioning to stimulate growth while identifying gaps and challenges and ways in which the Diaspora could assist in finding means to fill the needs.   Looking on from left are Miramar Mayor, Wayne Messam and extreme right Leo Gilling, Chairman of the Diaspora Education Task Force.
