In 2013, the Broward County Commission designated February 22nd as a day to honor Dr. Goldson’s work in the community. On Saturday, February 18th Goldson Spine along with members of the community gathered in Lauderhill at the new Joy’s Roti Delight to celebrate Dr. Fidel S. Goldson Sr.’s life and legacy.

FGSR FE C 97The event was a huge success as donations were collected to provide scholarships for Boyd Anderson High, North East High, Dillard High, Alonzo Mourning High, and Kingston College in Jamaica. Many of those who were in attendance, shared fond memories of Dr. Fidel S. Goldson Sr., enjoyed authentic Caribbean food and danced to reggae and soca music throughout the night.

Dr. Goldson Sr. was very well respected in the community and was often praised for his selfless efforts of sharing the importance of community service, education, and living a healthy life. After his passing, the Dr. Fidel S. Goldson Sr. Foundation was established to promote these ideologies by providing scholarships to high school students, both locally and abroad.

In that regard, the Foundation hosts two events annually: (1) The Dr. Fidel Goldson Sr. Memorial Event and (2) Dr. Fidel S. Goldson Sr. Summer Splash Back to School event. Both events show a commitment to community and future generations. The public is welcomed to donate at goldsonfoundation.org, or goldsonspine.com.
