May is Teen Pregnancy Prevention Month and Broward County Public Schools, the Broward County Health Department and the United Way of Broward County hosts the second annual Walk Aware Event. Five Hundred (500) Middle and High School Students representing Broward County Public Schools with the highest rates of births to teens will participate in a day of education, inspiration, and mobilization to reduce and prevent teen pregnancy in Broward County.
The City of Opa-Locka celebrated the construction of the new Sherbondy Village Community Center, 777 Sharazad Boulevard, with a Groundbreaking Ceremony on Thursday, April 29. The new structure will adjoin the park and City Hall located in the middle of the 4.2 square mile neighborhood making it easily accessible to youth and adults alike.

Wings Over Miami Air Museum, located in the Kendall-Tamiami Executive Airport, 14710 South West 128th Street, Miami, will be hosting a Fly-In and Static Display of vintage aircraft on Saturday, May 15th, 2010 from 10 am to 4 pm.

A fly-in is an opportunity for planes throughout a region to fly-in to an airport for a special event. In the case of the May event, the planes will be parked and displayed much like a car show. The pilots will be available for the public to visit with and to answer questions about their planes.

The Jamaica Debt Exchange (JDX) has and will make a significant positive impact on the country’s debt situation, and has the potential to turn Jamaica back from the path of increasing indebtedness that it has been on for the past 14 years. However, the JDX alone is insufficient. The government must pursue a programme of disciplined management of liabilities accrued outside of central government, must see through its stated intention to aggressively rationalize the public sector, and embark on comprehensive fundamental tax reforms, if Jamaica is to see real reductions in the country’s debt burden.
