Local Black Firm Hired By the NFL to Produce 2020 Play Football Family Festival During Super Bowl LIV Week

MIAMI, Fl., — The National Football League (NFL) hired Hip Rock Star to produce the 2020 Play Football Family Festival, which took place Saturday at Alonzo & Tracy Mourning Senior High Biscayne Bay Campus. Held the day before Super Bowl LIV, more than 500 student-athletes attended the Festival to learn and develop football and transferrable life skills.

funfamily“He signed it to me!” shouted Legend Sears a smiling third-grade athlete who remarked about his autograph experience with Grady Jarrett, Atlanta Falcons Defensive Tackle.  Jarrett was just one of the professional athletes who came out to meet with local youth for an exclusive opportunity to be candid about on and off the field of football. 

Hip Rock Star, a trailblazingfull-service advertisingagency, was selected in 2019 by the NFL to produce the live event. “We were floored to be selected to produce such an amazing and impactful event for the NFL –Youth & High School Football Division,” said Jessica Garrett Modkins, founder of Hip Rock Star. “The opportunity to create, produce and execute the 2020 Play Football Family Festival was a major feat for Hip Rock Star. Special guests at the Festival included: Tyler Boyd, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver; Grady Jarrett, Atlanta Falcons defensive tackle; Roman Oben, NFL Vice President of Youth and High School Football Strategy; Torrey Smith, NFL Legend and two-time Super Bowl Champion; Golden Tate, New York Giants wide receiver; and Jamaal Williams, Green Bay Packers running back.NFLBowl

The event featured NFL player autographs, Riddell, USA Football Tackle Station, Football Clinics, equipment fittings, and a parents’ forum. From additional photo opportunities, sounds curated by DJ Fly Guy, food trucks, and giveaways from Gatorade, Frito-Lays, Campbell’s and more—the 2020 Play Football Family Festival celebrated the football community, and the coaches and players who bring passion, fun and excitement to the sport.

Along with the fun football-related activities, the Play Football Family Festival aimed to unite youth and high school football communities; drive positive conversations centered on the values of the game; celebrate the importance of youth and high school football coaches; and recognize and spotlight girls flag football.
