Avoiding Business Casualties in the Aftermath of a Disaster We Need Your Feedback!

It's a statistical fact that approximately 40% of small businesses do not survive the physical or economic impact of a hurricane. The Miami-Dade Beacon Council has  now engaged in an all-out effort to change those numbers by launching the Business Continuity Program. This program is a One Community One Goal initiative that provides business owners with essential information for accessing resources to prepare for as well as recovery quickly from the impact of a hurricane.

miami business community"Local business storm victims were an untold story. When business owners have to struggle providing their families with basic creature comforts like food, water and shelter, meeting the demands of maintaining a successful business becomes a secondary priority. Well now we are implementing an initiative that might serve as a game changer, allowing businesses a greater chance of survival," said Sheri Colas-Gervais, Vice President, Economic Development & Urban Initiatives at the Miami-Dade Beacon Council.

To continue in making this a successful effort, we need your feedback in order to enhance the 2018 Business Continuity Disaster Preparedness Tool Kit. We are adjusting the format to make it more user friendly and updating the content to offer the greatest value for our small businesses. The survey is quick and easy and your input is of great value.  Provide your feedback by clicking here.
