Did someone leave you feeling like you were taken advantage of after a business transaction? The Miami-Dade Consumer Services Department is holding a FREE clinic on Tuesday, May 11 that teaches you how to take your case to Small Claims Court. Attendees receive hands-on help filing the appropriate paperwork and advice on what kinds of cases are worth pursuing. The event will be held at the C. Lawton McCall Community Center, 9617 Park Drive in Miami Shores, starting at 6:30 p.m.
Miami-Dade Community Action Agency’s Summer Intern Program is designed to provide Miami-Dade County youth and young adults with the opportunity to acquire meaningful work experience, through internships with various Miami-Dade County Departments and other public entities such as the Miami-Dade County School Board and local State of Florida offices.

ImageTropical Shipping, one of the leading carriers to the Bahamas and the Caribbean, has taken delivery of 525 new refrigerated containers, including 150, 20 foot containers and 375, 40 foot containers.

The new containers arrived at the Port of Palm Beach on March 19, 2010 and they are the first shipment of more than 750 new refrigerated containers purchased by Tropical. The second shipment of refrigerated containers is due for delivery to the Port of Palm Beach in early 2011.

Port Everglades broke its own world record, again, when more than 52,000 cruise guests sailed in and out of Port Everglades on Saturday, March 20, 2010, at the start of the spring vacation season. The last world record was set on Saturday, January 3, 2009, when 49,234 passengers sailed in and out of the South Florida cruise port in a single day.
