The Limegrove Lifestyle Centre is being developed in Barbados
The Barbados Entrepreneurs' Venture Capital Fund will have a presence on the west coast of the island.

Set up a year ago to stimulate economic growth, one successful enterprise after another, the entrepreneurship development organization, better known as Bimventures, has been allocated space at the high end Limegrove Lifestyle Centre in Holetown in the St. James parish. Limegrove is a mixed use lifestyle centre which opens at year-end.

On Tuesday, September 7, 2010, at the City of Miami Gardens, residents took part in the Business Stimulus Grant Workshop. Miami-Dade Economic Advocacy Trust’s (MDEAT) Economic Development Action Committee and The City of Miami Gardens hosted the grant workshop. The Honorable Shirley Gibson, Mayor, City of Miami Gardens supported this initiative. This Initiative will serve as a catalyst to help stimulate growth and development for (10) minority businesses to expand in the City of Miami Gardens.
Miami-Dade County’s Office of Sustainability announces the launch of the Renovation for Energy Efficiency Loan (REEL) program for businesses to implement energy efficiency retrofits. REEL, administered by the South Florida Regional Planning Council, is a $1.5 million revolving loan fund that provides funding to businesses to institute capital improvements to their properties that result in a reduction in the electrical energy consumed by the business. All local businesses in Miami-Dade County may apply for REEL.

The Jamaica American Chamber of Commerce, in association with Gateway Capital Holdings, LLC, will present the inaugural Jamaican-American Investment Summit (JAIS) 2010 on Sept. 30 in New York City.

JAIS 2010 is expected to offer an investment information exchange designed to bring together private equity fund managers, brokers/dealers, investment banks, business leaders and individual/entrepreneurial investors with a number of Jamaican-based projects that are ready for investments.
